![]() Timely Emergency Communications TaskforceDr. Sechrist has asked Dr. Marion Paden and me to co-chair a Timely Emergency Communications Taskforce to review the Campus Communication Plan and make recommendations for improvement. We would like to have two representatives from all of the geographic areas of the College on the taskforce. (Students will also be asked to serve on this taskforce.) The taskforce will meet on Friday mornings, beginning March 26, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. until the end of the spring semester. If you have an interest in serving and are available on Friday mornings, please notify me at vgibson@occc.edu or ext. 7864, prior to Spring Break. When volunteering, please identify which of the following geographic areas of the College you would be representing from the following list:
In the event that we have an abundance of volunteers, we may need to select the two representatives from each area so that we have a manageable size taskforce. However, everyone's comments are welcomed and encouraged. You may email your comments to myself or Marion or use the newly established address safetysuggestions@occc.edu. In addition, we will keep you informed as the membership of the taskforce is determined and you may use your area representatives to convey your comments as well. Vicki K. Gibson President's Award for Excellence in TeachingThe OCCC President's Award for Excellence in Teaching is presented each spring to a full-time faculty member who exemplifies teaching excellence. To be considered for this award a faculty member must first be nominated by a fellow faculty member, a current or former student, or OCCC staff member. Upon review of all nominations, three candidates will then compete for the honor, and President Sechrist will make the final selection.
All nomination forms must be returned by Friday, March 5 to the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Nomination forms can be printed by going to: www.occc.edu/AcademicAffairs/FacultyForms.html and clicking on President's Award for Excellence. For questions or more information, please call ext. 7546.
