Lamarkism |
|
|
Lamark reasoned that giraffes stretch their necks to reach food in trees. During their lifetimes, giraffes will acquire slightly longer necks. Each generation inherits a longer neck from their parents. He also pointed out that a blacksmith has well developed arm muscles from using them every day. The sons of the blacksmiths will also have well developed arms because their fathers acquired that trait and passed it on. |
