American History 1493

Glen Vaughn Roberson, Ph.D.

History and sex have two common features, both explain how we got here and both are more fun to experience than to read about. This American History course enables you to experience history and those people who came before you through music, speeches, story, discussion, and computer-generated slides and video.

How did your grand parents and great - grandparents face the new technology of their day, deal with the loss of a job or a loved one? Why did they bemoan what they saw as the general decline of the "old, traditional values?" What answers did they have to solve the issue of crime and poverty? Who were their heroes? What music did they hear? Your ancestors are speaking to you, come and listen to what they say. Remember, you are here only because they lived!
