OCCC’s Corporate Learning Department will offer a Speed Learning class free for all students from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1.
Francine Gissy, Corporate Learning consultant, said the class is designed to teach students to improve their study skills, retain information better and build good habits for success.
So far, more than 100 students have completed the four-hour course in past years, she said.
The three sessions will be held in the Library in rooms 407 A and B.
Walk-ins are welcome.
Corporate Learning was awarded a grant through Academic Affairs to promote student retention and development, allowing the Speed Learning class to be free of charge, Gissy said.
“Students who have been out of school for some time, who have many obligations in their lives, or feel overwhelmed by classes are especially encouraged to come,” she said.
Peter Vail, Adult Training and Consulting specialist, will conduct classes.
