If you had an important job interview, would you know what to wear?
The Student Employment Program is hosting a luncheon titled “Dress for Career Success” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, in College Union 3.
The free luncheon focuses on dressing professionally for interviews, said Judi McGee, Employment Services coordinator.
McGee said Employment Services is trying to teach students about the various facets of professionalism:
• tasteful clothing
• well-fitting clothing
• classic clothing
• polished shoes
• comfortable shoes
• conservative accessories
• immaculate personal grooming
“One complaint employers have had was people didn’t look like they were looking for a job,” McGee said.
Employers tend to judge a person’s seriousness based on how they’re dressed, she said.
Lunch will be barbeque, and students are asked to RSVP by calling 405-682-1611, ext. 7369.
This is the second time this workshop has been held. About 40 people are expected to attend.
A fashion show will be held at the end of the luncheon to exhibit professional dress, McGee said.
