Mother's day gift ideas
By Stephen Sossamon, Staff Writer
Mother’s Day is upon us and some still haven’t begun to think of what to get their moms on their special day.
If the high price of gas and the necessities of life are making you low on dough, there are plenty of special bargains available to make your mom smile.
Of course, the cheapest and easiest, arguably the most thoughtful, are homemade gems.
A creative mind can make a card and add in some love. Every mother treasures messages and letters from her children. If that option is ruled out, some inexpensive gifts are available.
Big Lots is selling a bath and fragrance gift set, Scotch photo albums and ceramic jar candles for $5 each.
Local grocery stores, most of the time, have flowers for less than $10.
Barnes and Noble is selling various books, geared towards women, for less than $25.
Barnes and Noble is also selling a Mother’s Day Floral and Dragonfly bound journal for less than $15.
Target has coffee pots for under $50.
Finally, taking over the advertisements on TV are the Hallmark Recordable Greeting cards. These greeting cards retail for under $10.
Though expensive gifts are available, you can still save money and make your mom proud this Mother’s Day.
