Class-act musician entertains children

Dozens of children danced, sang and played Nov. 7 in the College Union as Dave Rudolf played “Old MacDonald, Bruce Springstien” style.
Student Life hosted the musical event for only $1 per person. Nearly 100 people showed up for the live concert.
Rudolf filled the room with his musical talent as he sang and played his guitar. He also had a sound-board for effects and an assistant who played an electric keyboard.
Depending on which song he played, Rudolf encouraged the children to get up and join the conga line, play with beach balls and even have a try at the limbo.
“This does not count as a bath,” Rudolf said as the children ran to play in front of the bubble machines.
As her four children laughed and played, Angela O’Day enjoyed an hour of light hearted merriment. “I am actually writing a paper for my Success in Life course,” she confessed after taking out her notebook.
With so many children ranging in age from barely able to walk, all the way up to 11-year-old sixth graders, all running and playing along with the music, it was easy to forget that it was a school sponsered event.
Darin Behara, Student Life director, said he was pleased the initial feedback was positive.
