MAPS 3 Information Session Planned at OCCC, Dec. 2
Oklahoma City Community College will host an information session on the MAPS 3 proposal at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec, 2 in College Union Rooms 2 and 3. Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett will present information about MAPS 3 and answer questions concerning issues on the proposal from community residents. Financial Aid Information Session Dec. 7
Come and learn about significant upcoming changes in Financial Aid from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, December 7, in CU3. This will be a come and go session to allow for as many students as possible to collect information at their convenience.
Regents vote to renew architecture contract, leave options open

The Board of Regents unanimously voted Nov. 23 to end Triad Design’s monopoly on architectural design and construction at OCCC.
In a 6-0 vote the board decided to renew their contract with Triad for the next five years but gave themselves the option of choosing another firm to handle a major project if they so wished.
“Triad has done a really good job,” said James White, Board of Regents chairman. “However, there were some valid questions raised about Triad and their timeliness.”
Jerry Steward, executive vice president, told reporters there was some lack of communication between Triad and OCCC staff which reduced both team’s efficiency in completing their jobs.
“The Board of Regents decided five years ago to adopt a procedure to evaluate Triad’s performance every five years in order to find issues just like this,” he said. “Now we will evaluate their performance every year.

When gasoline is replaced by compressed natural gas, a newer and cleaner fuel, automotive technicians need new tools for their trade.
With this in mind, OCCC has decided to lend a helping hand.
The Automotive Technology Department offers a training program in alternative fuel so students can work on vehicles that have been converted to run on natural gas, said Richard Steere, Automotive coordinator.
