Thesis Statements:
Part of the Foundation
A thesis statement is an important
part of any essay and is usually located in the introduction.
The foundation of the essay is not complete without the statement
of the main idea. The thesis statement should also contain an
attitude. In other words, the thesis statement should be more
than just a fact.
Most thesis statements are constructed in one of two ways: using
one idea broad enough to be covered in a five paragraph essay
or using a subject which is divided into three parts.
