COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course developed an understanding of the evolution of management, the role of the manager in business, and the development of sound management systems.

ASSIGNMENT:

To complete Mgmt 2053, Principles of Management, you are required to:

1. Read chapters prior to lecture.

2. Minimum of 80% attendance. Valid reason must be provided for missing class. Missing class does not excuse
    students for falling back on course work.

  1. Successfully complete four examinations. (400 points)
  2. Homework and class video case discussions (100 points)
  3. Work on study quide and quiz on CD-ROM.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
AT Oklahoma City Community College a student may be dropped (administratively withdrawn) from class if that student has excessive absences that, in the judgment of the faculty, would preclude the successful completion of course objectives.

It is mandatory for students to complete all examination within the given time frame. (If you fail to meet this requirement and fail to officially withdraw from the class will be given a grade of "F".)

While I may elect to withdraw a student due to absences, it is your responsibility to officially withdraw if you cease to attend review session. Any student who does not successfully complete  the course objectives and who has not officially withdrawn from class will be given a grade of "F".

EXAMINATION AND GRADING:

A letter grade will be assigned according to the following scale:
     A = 90 - 100%
     B = 80 - 89.99%
     C = 70 - 79.99%
     D = 60 - 69.99%
     F =  0  - 59.99%

The examinations are administered in class on the scheduled day.  There will be no retakes of any examination. Each exam will carry 100 points for a total of 300 points. Additional 100 points will be used for homework. Exams plus homework will give a total of 400 points. To earn an “A” grade students must have at least 360 points.
